Emily obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LLB Hons) degree from Northumbria University, Newcastle. She was called to the Honorable Society of Lincoln’s Inn upon completing her Bar Vocational Course. After completing her tertiary and advanced studies in the United Kingdom, she returned to Malaysia to undertake her pupillage at a reputable multi-practice law firm in Kuala Lumpur, recognized by the Legal 500. She was then admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. She was retained as an associate at the same firm and continued her legal practice, later being promoted to the position of senior associate. She acquired substantial experience in various areas of litigation, where she was involved in managing complex and highly disputed cases, including employment matters concerning both domestic corporations and multinational companies, across all tiers of the Malaysian judiciary.

She later joined a mid-sized Kuala Lumpur based law firm in 2016, where she further developed her experience in corporate litigation.
In 2018, she embarked on a partnership with a boutique law firm, allowing her greater hands-on engagement with individual clients. During this time, she further developed her expertise in dispute resolution, alternative dispute resolution, construction, employment and industrial relations, family, insolvency, as well as wills, trust and probate.

Drawing upon the wealth of experience and insight gained from serving a diverse clientele ranging from corporations to individuals, she established her own firm, Messrs. JS CHIN & Co, with a mission to deliver effective and customized legal solutions tailored to her clients’ unique needs.
